Tiltle :Farms.com's Yield Data Center
WATCH
Corn and soybean growers now have a new online resource to help them assess the performance of corn and soybean genetics.

The Farms.com's Yield Data Center is a new website that creates a one-stop, online location for growers who want to see how various corn hybrids and soybean seed varieties performed this past year before ordering and purchasing seed for next season.

You can access the site at YieldData.Farms.com. This innovative online resource gives farmers access to local yield data from seed companies and other sources

Seed companies gather a significant amount of weigh wagon data from across the province. The information is then posted to the Yield Data Center so that farmers can see how their own yields compare to local seed company co-operator plots, which are usually farm-scale, multi-product trials. At the home page, visitors can select and view the plot data provided by the seed company.

Growers can also find the provincial performance trial data for both corn and soybeans and link to hybrid and variety comparison tools.

Yield data is continually flowing to the site as more plots are being harvested. Growers can view plots from the maturity range appropriate for their operation and print individual plot results. Selecting seed genetics is probably the first and most important decision that growers make.

Being able to view and consider yield results from all available sources can only help in identifying the right hybrids and varieties to purchase for the next planting season.

Farmers can truly benefit from this easy-to-use, platform where they can see local yield numbers from various seed companies, government trials and commodity organizations. Growers in western Canada will soon be able to use this tool. Watch for the site to be expanded in the future to include canola and cereal crops.
